Northside Dental & Implant Centre®
Choosing the right dental practice to look after you is one of the most important health decisions you can make. You need to be confident not only in the skill and clinical ability of the dentists, but confident that the entire team is dedicated building a long term relationship based on trust.
Northside Dental & Implant Centre® provides comprehensive care for the entire family, from children’s dentistry to major restorative treatment.
Decades of experience are combined with new procedures at the forefront of dental technology to ensure you receive the best results possible. The dental surgery was custom built to enable us to provide North Shore residents with the finest and friendliest dental care around!
We value every patient as a unique person and at all times strive to provide our patients with dental treatment in a manner that is respectful of their culture, beliefs, values and personal characteristics.
The principal dentist, Dr Ian Sweeney, has earned the reputation as one of Sydney’s most respected dentists through his unwavering dedication to his profession, his clinical skills and his patient’s trust.
Dr Sweeney regularly features in the media expressing expert advice in all aspects of dentistry from Children’s dentistry to Cosmetic Dentistry to Implant Dentistry.
His team is committed to providing patients with accessible and understandable information about their treatment and treatment options, including costs, proposed medications and risks involved.
We stand by our workmanship and the results we obtain. Our personal guarantee is to provide all of our patients a superior level of treatment care.
At Northside Dental & Implant Centre we have over 20 years of experience in restoring missing teeth with dental implants. We only use state of the art materials that are supported by many years of clinical research and development.
At Northside Dental & Implant Centre, there is no need to fear dentistry. Treatment under intravenous sedation or general anaesthetic is a part of our weekly routine. Three of our doctors are board registered to administer sedation. Our purpose built practice helps facilitate dental needs for even the most phobic of patients.
Patients with physical and intellectual disabilities, previously treated exclusively in major teaching hospitals, are now able to receive treatment locally as Northside Dental & Implant Centre. Our practice has wheelchair access and each surgery is large enough to accommodate a hoist if required.
The main entrance is via the Turramurra Avenue carpark, with wheelchair access from the Pacific Highway.
Our patients can rest assured that they are receiving the best possible quality care, with the best materials available, under the most stringent infection control procedures.
Patient care is paramount at Northside Dental and Implant Centre. We have always recognised the importance of maintaining systems that ensure the ongoing quality of care and infection control, which is particularly critical in today’s environment.
Maintaining these stringent standards requires constant, pedantic attention to detail. Everything from ensuring we know which medications patients are taking to ensuring that every instrument used is properly scrubbed; thoroughly sterilized and safely stored away every day. Each surgery is cleaned and sterilized before and after each patient and again at the end of the day when an environmental cleaning audit is completed.
There is no substitute for quality. The doctors on our team have decades of experience between them and use only the very best materials and equipment. They are supported by registered nurses and chair side assistants who are professionally capable, respectful, friendly and empathetic. All staff members regularly undertake accredited training course to improve their skills and knowledge.
We understand that, irrespective of age, a dental appointment can be scary ordeal for some people. Allaying fears and building patient confidence and trust is a big part of our service. We offer conscious or intravenous sedation, which is an efficient and effective way of relieving anxiety and providing pain control during a dental procedure. Sedation is ideal for anxious, phobic or patients with gag reflexes. Complex cases requiring general anaesthesia are performed at the SAN where we have regular operating lists.
Our practice management decisions are governed by feedback obtained from our patients. The results speak for themselves with 99% of our patients reporting overall satisfaction across the board – cleanliness; staff courtesy; explanation of procedures, and services provided. Pleasing results such as these encourage the team at Northside Dental and Implant Centre, as they show the expectations of our community are being met. We look forward to continuing to provide you and your family with expert dental care.
Hornsby Practice: The Power of Two
In 2013 the team at Northside Dental & Implant Centre were delighted to expand dental care on the Northshore through the establishment of a new dental practice in Hornsby.
Conveniently located at 79 Burdett Street, the practice is in close proximity to Hornsby Hospital and other allied medical services. The Hornsby practice has plenty of onsite parking and offers all aspects of general, family, children’s and cosmetic dentistry and dental surgery.
Northside Dental & Implant Centre strives to provide the utmost in care and safety for all patients. Both locations offer you and your family exactly the same processes and materials. Both practices have the same modern equipment and high standard of infection control that earned them both a Quality In Practice accreditation.
Having two symbiotic practices in such close proximity allows us to enhance patient care by expanding the hours of operation. For your convenience, Hi-CAPS and electronic payment processing is available at both facilities. The same digital imaging and record keeping system ensures doctors and admin staff can access records immediately, as necessary.
Wheelchair and special needs dentistry
We aim to provide the highest quality of dental care for patients of any age with special needs.
With the introduction of a hoist to the practice, treatment for wheelchair bound patients has never been easier. Wheelchair bound patients may now be easily transferred into a dental chair to receive optimal dental care, without risk of injury to staff or carers.
We believe that every person has the right to grow with a healthy smile and a lifetime of good dental health.
We emphasize the importance of early prevention in management of our patients with special needs so that we may make their experience as comfortable and positive as possible.
For this reason, we aim to create a friendly, caring setting from the time they arrive into the office until the time they leave. Our team of skilled doctors and caring staff will not only eliminate the fear associated with dental visits, but also leave an enjoyable impression that will hopefully last a lifetime.
Patients with special needs are often able to be treated in a conventional dental chair, however they frequently require added facilities such as treatment under intravenous sedation or in hospital under general anaesthetic. Both options are available and offered routinely as options.
